B5: Distance between engine and steering rack?

Hi,

does anyone have a half dismantled A4 and can measure the distance between the back of the engine and the steering rack? I am wondering if the B5’s front axle would work with the B8 and later transmissions, i.e. if the engine could be moved back sufficiently. Should be around 150mm.

No, I was thinking about putting an A4 front axle into a B2. Kinda like the forum member from Greece is doing at the moment. But also moving the axle forward maybe 80mm and the engine back 70 or something. Should improve looks and weight dist.
