    Dialynx sport quattro

Hi all does anyone know anything about the black Dialynx sport quattro on the trader?
It's been up for sale for ever and a day. But recently the price has been dropping if I remember correctly it started out up for nearly £30k but it's now down to about £18k and I'm really tempted to go and have a look and splash some cash.
Just wondered if anyone on here knew anything about the car / it's history / if the price is about right etc.
I'd love a shortie for weekends / sprints / general fun and ideally I'd have a go at my own project but I know deep down I don't have the time or space to complete it.
I'm in no rush as I can't really say i need a 3rd car and renovating the avant is certainly keeping me on my toes
Anyway any information would be great and any testamonials from any former or current dialynx owners.

    Thanks everyone Rich

There's a red one on pistonheads at the moment as well, slightly cheaper IIRC. Never actually been in one, but as I'm quite local to dialynx and spend a reasonable amount of time there I've seen them in various stages of being built, and from what I've seen they always seem to be of a very good standard.

Cheers Paul, I might give dialynx a ring and ask them about the car original spec when they built it etc sounds like a sensible starting place.

      Thanks Rich

I have a feeling from a previous post that it might have been Aelred's though I'm sure someone will come along and correct me You're right has been up for an age. I've seen it in the flesh at castle Combe and it looks gorgeous!

          Yup used to be Aelred's.

I believe Aelred left it with Dialynx after he parted company from them and it fell into disrepair and then Dialynx rebuilt it and refinished it in black (it used to be red).

When Aelred owned her she had a 10V, so it has been changed to 20v power, also I notice from the images on Autotrader it has had the digi dash removed and a set of S2 clocks installed, plus the seats have been swapped out for something better.

Not so sure it was Aelreds,
Looks like the one Dialynx built for a guy who was terminally ill, if it is then it had no expense spared. I remember his widow having it for sale after he had check out.
Wheres Aelred when you need him?

                  @ GT500

The one your thinking of is the one at the top of this page

I'm fairly sure they're different cars unless someone has seriously changed the spec to whats on the trader.
I've got the mag with the feature on the terminaly ill guys' one somewhere I'll dig it out if anyone wants the full spec run down, but your right that was no expense spared finished as a tribute to his passion for the car and it was done beautifully.
I think it would be a shame if this is the same car and someones messed around with it.

I could always justsolve my dilema by buying this weeks winning lottery ticket then i could just get this one lol

                    Yeh thats the one,,
Seems like your after one then!

I would have to do the A post and Audi 80 roof job if I did one. I don't uderstand why to go to all the trouble and expense not have a exterior correct shell.

Steve Tayton? was the owner of the one you are thinking about, his had 18" or 19" Merc cross spoke wheels on it and is a different one to the car above.

C111KOE was Aelreds, at one point it had A1RED as a plate.

Oh yeah I got well and truly bitten by the quattro bug and the SQ has got to be the ultimate incarnation on the road.
I always promised myself I'd have a supercar by the time I'm 30 and now I've finally got myself debt free after university I'm on the hunt.
As I said before I'd love to build one myself and I'm with you on the exact replica shell if I was doing it that way, but I don't have the time or space to do it and I want to be able to just go out and enjoy one rather than having a project for the next couple of years.
Again I'm in no immediate rush to own one whatever I buy it's got to be just right.
I've worked hard to get here so I just want the fun now

                          Thats the bloke.

I stand corrected Corey, very similar looking though.
I'm gonna go searching through my loft for the mag in a bit just to satisfy my curiousity for the full details on that one again.
