    Taking the step....

Hi everyone, i'm new here and i intend to upgrade my old 80 to an S2 avant in the coming months. I was wondering though, does the avant perform as well as the coupe?

Avant is to all intents as purposes as fast. Probably more desirable cause of the boot space. If you mean to get a car and then make it faster, keep an eye out for the odd already sorted car that pop up Autotrader website, and if poss get an expert to check what you thinking of buying. There was a recent 380bhp avant that looked for nice for around 10k.

    Other than that, welcome!

    No more.

Leon TDI 150 run in now.

    Very slow.

    Needs a chip.

good good, but i intend to keep it standard initially, i'm not as rich as i'd like to be but who is right?

However, I see on some other threads that it is possible to install an RS2 chip? What sort of gains will that give, and is it expensive?

Avant/Coupe....unless you drive them back to back there is little difference in performance.

        Avant is a bitof a sleeper tho'...goodie.

Search thro the site to see what the remapping and chipping opions are..loads of experience here to get your mind boggling...

        Good luck in your search.
