Tailgate problem

My S2 has problems with the boot closing , when i let it go ,it just slams shut .I think this could be a damper problem . The other day after a shopping trip at Wallmart, Dallas
,the boot just let go and slammed , the caused my bottle of champers to near explode in the boot . Any help with this matter would be great

You need a pair of new gas struts for the tailgate.

Any Audi dealer should be able to get you them or any aftermaket shop.

Very easy to fit.
