Wow, I think the S2 might be even happier than you hitting the roads again, 2½ years is some serious down time

    Let it rip!

What was the reason it was laid up in the first place? job commitments etc?

Well i had a crank pulley failure before it was taken off the road, couldnt afford any repairs due to University,
I worked most of last year for my year in Industry and managed to make enough to get it back on the road, been slowley putting parts together and now its runnning just need an Mot and she is ready to go.
I think i will try cleaning the MAF tommrow all the contacts and that see if thats the problem other wise i will Pm you.
Cheers for the support, hopefully make some meets this year! And show up my Little bros Impreza.

Good lad - less determined people would have given up about 2yrs ago - keep the faith, though I wouldn't waste time on a MAF-bath if you are getting no output at all. Eat the 100 quid and get a new yin on there...

Yep def gonna need a new MAF, should have been checked before it went on, the platinum wire is broken. But should be sorted by end of next week.
I still cant belive that after 2 or so years laid up all it needs for the MOT is wipers!
Done a full inspection of everything a little corrosion on the underneath but nothing that a weekend work and some underseal wont sort!
If funds allow I want to do the race tracks of europe this summer!
Im getting restless with excitment, I just want to drive if but needs everything worn in again, got quite a few fluid changes to do over the next few months.
Anyway better get on sourcing a MAF.
                  Cheers again for the support

                              UPDATE: Failed the MOT

He failed it on Rear ARB Link Excessive Play, somehting to do with an exhaust mounting, and front brake hoses bulging under pressure.Time to sort these out, how much are the brake hoses? easy to fit?
I know about the exaust mount, didnt think he would fail on it.
The problem i have is with the ARB link excessive play, will it just need some new poly bushes?
                              Thanks
A little iritated and soon to be broke Michael

I supose it could have been worse having sat for 2 years. He had the cheek to put as an advisory all suspension and drive components corroded. What does he ****ing expect on a 18 year old car.
