    ebay clutch for type-85

    Hi guys,

    quick question, should I get this...?

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CLUTCH-KITS-AU...QQcmdZViewItem

    It contains all the parts I need to change the clutch etc. And on phoning them I established that it fits my car through checking the no. plate.

    But looking at the differences between this one and GSF...

    Virgin car parts= 190mm clutch kit - £37 all in

    GSF= 228mm clutch kit - £108 (+ postage)

    Should I just bite the bullet and get the more expensive part from GSF? I always thought that clutches cost around £100, so this has thrown me a bit!

    Opinions plz

    Cheers,

    Phil

    you will probably have to replace that bag of **** £37 thing in a few months,if you are planning on keeping the car for a while i would go with a OE sachs unit.

      I wouldn't fit a £37 clutch in a fit, how on earth can they make a kit so cheap

        Whats the best way to fit the clutch? We've got overhead ramps etc and an engine hoist, but Ive heard different things from different people. Im starting to sway towards drop the gearbox out...less hastle about plumbing everything back together again!

          For the hassle involved in changing a clutch, I would put a half decent unit in. I can't imagine the one on eBay will be much use for less than 40 notes.
