"ersatzlos gestrichen" ... parts you can´t get anymore

I wrote a long letter to audi concerning different parts you cant get anymore especially for the audi rs2. I also wrote all the things in my board www.rs-zwei.com and people there are also not amused by audi concerning the parts that are erased from etka. I promise to all you guys, that i will do my best to get a connection directly to different manufacturers that delivered the stuff to audi. I have some contacts already and ordered bunch of different missing parts, but nothing arrived yet.

Here my list of parts you cant get anymore. Please update this if i forgot something. Please inform me in this thread, if you need help for a missing part - i´ll do my best to help you out!!

    MY LETTER TO AUDI:

    best regards,

What means that they cant help me and they wont give me any information. BUT i have the right contacts in the "Empire" and they WILL help me. I also called Audi Classic Part Center and they told me that the RS2 IS NOT an AUDI!!!!! They will not have ANY RS2 Part!!!

I also have to tell you, that we started to reproduce following parts out of PEC Plastic and CFK Carbon Fibre:

      8A0 853 207/208 C --- Scheinwerferblende (Erhältlich bei Pogea Racing)
This is the Cover underneath the Headlights of the RS2

--> also we reproduced the outside B-Pillar and C-Pillar covers in Carbon Fibre
AND the Frame Grill in the Front also in Carbon Fibre....

If we cant get 8A0 853 645/646 A for the standard Grille anymore, we will also find another new solution!

PLEASE HELP ALL TO MANAGE A CLEAR AND FULL LIST OF MISSING PARTS!!

Great idea putting pressure on Audi. They are very arrogant to say that the RS2 is not an Audi... then what is it? non-existent?

Do you have a petition? If affected by the dropped parts the typ85/89/B4/P1 registered owners would sign it.
          Cheers mis amigos,

I never thought of that before but I wonder would a general petition stating the disappointment from owners on the deletion of parts from the UR thru to the (R)S246 and the apparent total lack of any care for the heritage of these cars and the challenges facing owners get the message across. Would they not be shocked or embarrassed by how many otherwise healthy and repairable old Audis are being scrapped or broken for parts.

I think the problem is that Audi have never had the problem of such popularity for their older cars - if they don't sort out a process for dealing with this now then what chance does an R8 owner have in 10 yrs for keeping it in tip top shape.

I know a guy with a 30yr old Ferrari and he is able to get just about anything from the factory and/or its suppliers - sure it doesn't come cheap and certain things only get made in batches on an infrequent basis, but the difference is that Ferrari cares about these old cars and their passionate owners. It seems that Audi couldn't care less about you unless trundling around in something fresh that turns up in their service centre twice a year and you are happy to bend over and take it up the exhaust pipe when they present you with the hilarious bill... more than often performed by their youngest mechanics who if your lucky have been under the watchful eye of an experienced technician.

I think that you should find a way to send mail to Mister Stephan Reil, Head of Technology Development, quattro GmbH.

As much as it pains me to say it, but if it basically no longer becomes viable to own my ur-quattro, or S2 come to that, due to Audi not being interested in supporting a supply of parts for them to stay on the road. Then, no matter how much I adore these cars, I'd drop the brand like a stone. Permanently.

I'd imagine a large percentage of other Audi enthusiast's possibly would too, and the damage to Audi's reputation would be pretty significant.

Imagine people seeing more and more of the older Audi's running around in a progressively tatty condition (just think about the lower door trims for starters), or more and more being scrapped. Whilst older Mercedes, Porsche and BMW's are still in fine fettle. It'll all add up to people's perception that Audi's don't really last and are the poor relation of the 'big four'.

Especially if they continue to bang on about the ur-quattro whenever they bring out a new model and people in the future suddenly think "Hang on, I've not seen any of those about for years. They can't have lasted". Doesn't say much if the legendary car that made Audi what it is today was put out to pasture and forgotten by it's creators.

If it gets to that point, sorry, but I'll be looking towards a 928 GTS or E34/39 M5. And leave Audi to all their diesel A4 fleet buyers that they seem much more concerned about.

                Rant over

Would it be worth trying to contact Porsche over the matter of the RS2? As they had such an input into the car itself. Just an idea to throw around.

The irony of Audi using it's racing heritage to help market its new cars, but then not actually continuing to SUPPORT the owners of those cars, especially the UrQ is short sighted...

In the states it's becoming a challenge to buy a windscreen/windshield for the Type 89 Coupe Quattro, and the UrQ windshields are NLA...

I bought two of the Type 89 windshields and put them in storage...

                        My Answer today:

                        Sehr geehrte Frau Donath-Freimuth,
                        Sehr geehrter Herr Briem,

Hello Mrs. Donath-Freimuth and Mr. Briem,

i was thinking about not to answer your email and to let it go or if i should be satisfied with such a miserable standard answer and just go crazy about this. I think, i will let my anger go on now and answer.

My emails to audi classic parts resulted that they do not have any of the necessary parts, that we need in the rs2 scene, also that they do not have any of the rs2 parts. NICE! Maybe you did not really realize, what you will cause with your - i need to apologize - arrogant and spoiled reaction here and what kind of consequences it will have if you keep going like this. There are approx. 400 Audi RS2 running in Germany at the moment and approx 600 cars left world wide. If Audi stays ignorant like this and doesnt wanna help the owners, there will be no other solution than to buy "not so good" Audi RS2s to have them as a "spare part stock". It will result, that the cars will be less and less untill it will dissapear completely. This cult object will be erased caused through ignorance. The simpliest parts are not available any more and if you have a small crash you cant fix it anymore. Also there were different parts in production during delivery that were so bad in quality that it was necessary to change them any 1 or 2 years. If i cant keep the car complete, i will loose the interest and sell it. But if i really force having such a car like this there will be no other solution then to buy the cheap cars and kill them. I will not support this. I will do anything as possible to save any RS2!

NOW please answer my questions directly: WHY is it not possible to let this car alive and HOW can we work something out together? WHY do you give me such an absulute unprofessional answer and adress of audi classic center that could not help me for a second? WHY do you treat a customer that paid approx. 100000DM at that time like this?

I can start to tell you how easy it is to get the simpliest part from Fiat, Ferrari, Maserati even DeTomaso beginning from Models of 1960 still today and without waiting period. I cant imagine that it is not possible for a concern like audi to handle this! Sure, a car that was built only about 3000 times doesnt make any financial profit to you anymore. Sure... BUT you have to see, that the owner of a RS Car is able to buy other RS cars in your house...

Myself is looking for the actual brand new Audi RS6. Do you really think, that i am going to buy this ++ 100000€ car after such an arrogant and unprofessional answer? Dont you think, that i am scared to not get part for this car in 12 years or so? I do think so - others as well.

I am happy to hear your answer and .....
