        Do it.

The S2 is an "Event" car. Every time you get it out of the garage you smile. There is a feeling you get with a quality S2 that you will NEVER get with a Renault. These cars are special and if looked after will reward you time and again.

I love mine and just do not know what I could ever replace it with. (Ok a Porsche 997 GT2, but that's dreaming)

The example you are looking at certainly looks mint, and IMO mint is the way to go....

        Good luck.

        Cheers,

        Steve

P.S. (I have had mine 4.5 years and NOT modified it beyond a simple remap, upgraded dampers, a stereo system and some 17" wheels. They can be left alone... )

Thanks for all the nice comments guys...

Mike will be viewing the beast on Saturday. Luckily he lives close, so if I get withdrawal symptoms he's close enough to take me out for a drive!

I will be sad to see her go (presuming he likes it) but have had just over 2 years membership and enjoyed it very much! Never thought I'd sell it, but my Type85 will sort of keep a smile on my face for the next two years while I'm at Uni!
...ever since I floored you I knew that I loved you!

I love the looks you get at things like Inters with all the VW enthusiasts looking the S2s driving about and going up the 1/4 mile... it's just pure jealousy

                              Sorry missed this thread before!

Was going to say - take Steve's advice and just DO IT.

I've been down the modifying route myself, keeping the S2 as a daily driver etc and it gets very, very expensive!

My little brother (Sonic on the forum) runs a Clio 1.2 as a daily driver, and the S2 as a hobby, and it's the best way. S2 insurance is cheap with the low-mileage and if you can do the basic jobs on the car yourself it'll be pretty cheap to run also (as long as you get a good 'un).

I ended up with a Golf TDi (comfort was a priority) but seriously considered the Clio. My mate has a 100BHP one, nippy enough and easily returns 65+ mpg.

                              Cheers

                                Well Done!

You won't regret it, but if you can keep a little slush fund for the S2, you need to budget on £2k to run it and £500 for the odd unexpected bill.

I hope you don't mind me saying, but it looks like the rubber headlight trims for the leading edge of the bonnet are missing, other than that it looks very very nice.

                                Cheers,

                                Steve.
