Interesting article on Audi UK Website

Just found this on the Audi UK website... http://www.audi.co.uk/audi/uk/en2/ab...el_family.html

It would seem that Audi like to promote their history in a way that suits them, ie to help sell the brand no doubt. However as we are all aware they're not actually that interested in keeping these historic cars alive with more and more essential parts becoming unavailable!!

Also notice under S2 that the pic is a saloon, which seems odd as didn't they only make a handful of these if any at all?

Typical of Audi UK to get it wrong really - how embarrassing ... The S2 Saloon never came to the UK, and the S2 Coupe should be recognised at the very least as the first car produced with the 'S' branding - well the first for consumption by the public at least... The little S1 came first for those with a motorsport license and extremenly deep pockets

Haha. The early S4 info is a bit confused too .. the V8 engined model never made it to the UK officially.

They also state that the early S6 had a 5-speed box ... perhaps on the continent, but over here it most definitely had 6 as standard.

Most likely just a direct translation of the info from the German website. Very lazy. They should let us write it!

I suspect andrewd has it right - someone has just translated this and added fuggall value from an Audi UK perspective.
