3B Bits for ABY

I was wondering if the 3B Speedo or the Speed sensor would work in an ABY?
Also is there a fuse anywhere i can check for the speedo/odometer itself?

The speed sensor in 3B and ABY gearbox is the same, but for some reason I can't fathom - the 3B and ABY speedos have different part numbers. They may well be interchangeable, but I really don't know.

Pretty sure fuse for speedo is number 12 - cover lots of things on the cluster actually...

The speedos and circuitry and interchangeable, I made one decent set out of my original 3B clocks and an ABY set I got of eBay.

The other day whilst just moving the car around in the garden the speedo which is usually dead as a dead thing just came to life for a fraction of a second and shot up to the 20mph mark, even though i was going well slower...is this a sign that the speedo hasnt actually packed up yet and that it could just be 'sticking'? Bare in mind all the rest works, eg rev counter, trip computer etc....

I have heard that the soldered joints go 'dry' on the rev counter,dare say the same is possible for the speedo

when the wiring under my dash got messed around by the alarm getting ripped out after getting wrapped around the steering column, my speedo stopped working for quite a while but i found that it would kick in on left handers, then eventually worked fine after that

I dont get much time to work on the audi as you can tell, but if and when the unit comes out i'll look into the soldering aspect, see if i can give it some life again. It was working fine before, switched the engine off, topped the car up with some water and engine back on, ever since the speedo has been doing jacks***...untill the other day that is, as mentioned before. I bet you dont get sticky speedos on the quattros
