A higher-end TT-RS is under development, it is confirmed that this will use a turbocharged 2.5L 5-cylinder engine, that will develop 340 PS (250 kW; 335 bhp). The TT-RS will also feature quattro four wheel drive, and come standard with a six-speed manual gearbox.
Does anyone have any more information on this I hadn't heard of it before.
Sounds awesome to me as I like the current TT style.
How many valves per cylinder on that thing - 4 or 5 ?
5 valve would be cool - especially if it bolts onto S2 block - pretty expensive upgrade but its a notion !!!!!!
no chance fit on a s2 block, the engine is a vr6 with one less cylinder which means its got a staggered arrangement, its something of a half cast neither a v nor a straight
i herad about this a while back in autoexpress, is pretty nice a turbo 5pot audi. but is the awd system in the tt not a bit a let down comparison to the permeant system in s2's ete with longitudinal setup
Awww ****** - its a VR5 lump with a blower then... Scratch that idea - should have figured it would have to be transverse mounted. Side saddle deployment - one for the ladies then (and anymore hairdressers). Rats.
I read somewhere that it was one bank of a Lamborghini Gallardo/Audi RS6/New S8 engine. I think it was on here.

I think you'll find it's a straight 5, and it's loosely based o the straight 5 from the US spec Jetta
