Just bought performance car and there is a head to head between a rs2 and a rs6, should be interesting.

My brother bought it so I've had a read through ...the report certainly paints the RS2 as a much better car for enthusiasts, stating that the car involves you a lot more than the RS6, and it also states that the car is well in the hunt over the first 70mph.

It does point out the quite serious performance gap beyond that, I think it states that the 0-100 of the RS2 is about 13 seconds and the RS6 is a sniff under 10 for the same sprint.

I notice in the technical specifications that they remark on the RS2 top speed as 163mph (unlimited) ...given recent posts on here I think that might actually be a limited speed in top gear?

I picked up this mag at the weekend to read the RS2 vs RS6 article and I have to say that I'm very impressed with the magazine. I'll definately be buying it again!

Dang, I was at Hong Kong and Heathrow (yes, baggage got lost) last Friday, and I didn't know about the article in Performance Car. Of course, back here, I can't get the mag.

it IS limited at 163mph (GPS, not speedo)...I know, it hit it with my second ECU, it is quite brutal as well, if you push the limiter it cuts ignition a split second. When I lost the GALA signal to the ECU last summer, it cut the ignition at 4000rpm in "safe mode" in any gear. same happened at 163-165mph. The workshop manual even tells you that pin #38 or something on the ECU removes the limiter. But it is not allowed do it
If you special orderd it, you could have the extended limiter at 180mph (288km) GPS speed.

Or to the 'front heviness'. How about F loads of grip under power and more performance than you'll need with no let-up in the wet.

Plus, the back page of the mag features the old RS6, and how it kicked off the whole range of super saloons/estates that we see now!!
