Short wheelbase Quattro unveiled

I kinda like it. Looks good in this one, IMO:
Well that's good... it wouldn't be Quattro without quattro!Like the RS5 it also gets 'proper' four-wheel drive with a crown-gear differential rather than a Haldex system.
That sounds good, too.The engine, meanwhile, is the 2.5-litre turbocharged five-pot from the TT RS, but slung longitudinally and massaged up to 402bhp from 335bhp.
That's just annoying. I can kinda understand from a business perspective why, but it still seems a little... gimpish. If it lives up to what it could be and is priced just a little more than an R8, then I can see a lot a people feeling cheated. If the Quattro Concept does make it to production, expect a limited run of around 500 units.
I guess it's kinda like, "Hey, you like the new Quattro? ...well, sorry, you can't have one, but how about one of our other cars?"
Before anyone says so, I know that's the point, but in many ways, it'd make you feel begrudged to buy another new Audi. Not that the rest of the range is much to sing about these days anyway - plenty of choice, but nothing really does it for me.1993 ABY Coupe | BMW R1200 GS

Even uglier than the UR shorty and that is saying something... Hate the rear especially - looks very BMW. And the front is just trying too hard to be noticed / exotic. I think Audi are losing the plot... I wonder how many people work there now that were involved in anyway with the UR quattro and the huge impact it made on the scene. It looks a bit dated now but is a true classic that needed none of this bling shyte to try and sell it.
In fairness though - at least they have allegedly fitted an uprated version of the 2.5 TTRS donkey - longitudionally. I'd like it to be ~200kg lighter than the claimed 1400kg but thats 2010 for you and the wonders of automotive advancement where ordinary cars seem to get heavier every year - making them harder to stop, slower to accelerate, more heavier on fuel, but less mooshie in a prang.
I hope it goes well and handles fantastically cos it well never win awards in the appearance department.
C minus - could do MUCH betterPaul Nugent

Yup, just like the first SWB... Really Ugly...
Its kind of a real manly and functional car, like the germans used to do.
They didn't care much of how it looked...
Its more about the power and dominance...
I'm just looking at this, and imagining a Cayman S, Nissan Z, Bmw Z4, and they look kind of girly...
I just hope that it has some brutality hidden under that body!!!!

If it fails in this chapter, now that would be disapointing...
If you want a pretty one theres the TT-RS, if you want to drive Darth Vaders helmet grab one of these in black

Place bets now - I'd say price would be upwards of 80k if this was some limited edition run. That places about 80k more than I would want to spend on it. Isn't it weird that Audi don't build any cars that I actually want nowadays - other than the R8 of course - but I'm not a corporate banker, premiership footballer, gangsta rapper or drug dealer - so it doesn't count. ;-)Paul Nugent

Honestly, I could see them pricing it way more than that, especially with a run of just 500. Considering the R8 V10 is top side of £100k, it wouldn't surprise me if this also was.
Of course, if everyone else hates the looks as much as you guys, I might get one after all

I'll have one at 10% of the list price so say 10 years time £8k sounds alright to me.... Anybody want to buy one and take an advance order?? If they don't pollute them with sunroofs. I like big the open front TBH.ShaneComment

I kinda like it!
It looks bad 4$$ from the front, you'd move if you saw one in your mirror! And the back looks a little knight riderish. Wheels look gash though!
5cyl=cool, 400bhp=cool, proper 4wd also cool. It ticks loads of boxes for me. Its basically a modern day s2 coupe. Come on guys, there must be some part of you that would love to have a go!!!
I cant help but think they will never be cheap enough for the likes of me though
Especially with a limited run. 500 is disappointing.
