£32,032.85 (ex number plates and delivery)

Plus the following options: -

£164.50 - Wood trim was actually a COST option over the carbon fibre on the S2
£1,459.35 - Black Leather
£296.10 - Seat Heating
£224.43 - Remote central locking
£1,325.40 - Air Conditioning

£35,502.63 TOTAL

Totally with you on that one, love to be in the room when someone is planning interior options and they pull out the research to show demand for it??? The only one i have ever seen which looks ok is the piano black inlays on an rs4/rs6 and thats mainly because it didnt look like wood

Yeah, the piano black isn't so bad. It's the orange-ish wood (or "wood") that's the worst. Looks like an Umpa Lumpa has puked all over your dashboard.

Well you can do some quick math... According to them the compounded inflation between 1965 and today is a whopping 1390%.

That means take todays 79p tin of Heinz's finest and divide by 13.9 for about 5 and half pence... Ahh but it will be proper old money in 1965 - none of that new fangled decimal stuff - even I aint old enough to have used shillings, sheckles and the likes.

For a '93 S2 Avant it would've cost £31,248 according to Volkswagen/Audi magazine in March '94. Expensive for an 80 Avant considering my parents paid £25,000 for a brand new medium sized 3 bed detached with garage just 6yrs earlier, albeit "oop Norf"

I think it says as much about the ridiculous rise in house prices since then...

Wish I'd had the chance to buy a house when my parents did. Most normal* folk my age don't have a hope in hell of getting on the property ladder - never mind kids born today.

* my definition, ie. middle class, and I don't mean Daily Mail Middle Class (parents on £150k+ PA)
