The last S2 Coupes to come off the production line

Do we know the VINs of the last S2 Coupes Audi produced?

Here they claim that

S2 Coupe manufacture ceased towards the end of 1995 in line with chassis number WAUzzz8BzTA001775

Mine is WAUZZZ8BZTA002511. Am I right in saying that 002511 is the serial number of the car? As 002511>001775, does that make their claim wrong? Or did the serials not increment sequentially??

According to ETKA 8B-T-003000 was the last one, built in Dec 1995.

002511 falls into Oct 1995.

001775 coincidently is listed as the first chassis for Sept 1995.

From memory the latest one I know of is 2600 approx. That 3000 number is an estimate or ceiling number from family album.... It doesn't mean there is a car with vin of exactly 3000.

I've got 227* first registered end of April 1996 which makes me wonder if Audi actually built the cars in order or even built a car for every possible number??

the only thing I can think of is that they were built in VIN order but then some must have been kept as dealer stock and some ordered for customers.

Mine was registered in May 1996 with VIN 001997, so it must have sat at the dealers for a while, do the VINS not apply to all coupes and not just S2's ?

Building of the "T" (1996 model year) ACOQ (B4 coupes) supposedly began in May 1995 (?? - normally that would be July), with T000001. There is no VIN breakdown for ABY (S2) and V6 cars, they are all messed in there together. By the end of August 1995 (well into the build), they were up to T001317, by the end of November T002567. The upper limit (not saying the car was actually built) was T003000 at the end of December. Registration date has nothing to do with build date or in fact anything since the car may have sat on some lot somewhere for months after building before being bought and registered.
