    Audi S2 - Running Problems

    Hi

My S2 runs great if you give it gas, if you are running slowly i.e. normal driving it seems to hesitate, not sure if its a miss fire or just hesitating / holding back, at approx 60 mph cruising it feels as is its hunting / surging slightly and not that responsive intill you put your foot down.

I have asked a couple of good local engineers / mechanics but they all seem to want to steer away from looking at it.

Can anyone give me some advice on where to start looking? has anyone else had this problem?

If you gun it its absolutely perfect and very quick.

Can you get someone to pull the fault codes? If you need a good garage, try this place:-

its the lambda sensor. Just behind the turbo you will see a sensor going into the downpipe. Follow the cable back and there will be a connector just behind the strut brace for it.

to the left of the turbo in this pic...white and black cables

O2 sensor is not likely to affect the car this way.
Pull codes and check for air leaks.

Also, disabling various sensors is not a way to fix the car.
              Example:
If you have a big vacuum leak, your car will drive much better with the MAF disconnected. So, by this logic, you will decide that the MAF is faulty, but upon replacement, your car will drive exactly the same. So you'll be 200 quid down and exactly in the same place as before.
