The KKK-turbo-supercharger work with 2,8 Bar manifold pressure. The power is transfered to the street via a 6-gear manual gearbox and the permanent all-wheel drive quattro transferred to the road. On the end of the seasion the engine afforded 650 hp. From 13 races won Audi 8 races. In Niagara Falls Walter Röhrl outstripped the whole field and won. added the wrong link by mistake.

Great shot of the topmount arrangement there James, now I understand what they did on these cars
I love the prop driven alternator too

Engine bay picture looks like a rally car S1 E2 I would say. No spaceframed front end like the racing cars?

The turret tops are interesting. Looks like they are made to move the top mount back for more caster.

Think you might be getting confused with the Talladega version, reputed to be a 25V!

Of course in the US, the 200 was the 5000. The TransAm is usually considered to be the 10V where the IMSA is the 20V.
It does look like those 20V pic are a Ur. The grille in shot is a clue. On the 200/5000 there is a big void! The top mounts on the TransAm are different!

There might have been, but not in trans am, as the rules stated 2 valves per cylinder,
they were competing against big 2 valve yank V8s
