1-2-3 for Audi @ Le Mans

Not sure how many follow sportscar racing on here but a great weekend for Audi with a lock out of the podium and the other car in 5th place.

Toyota looked to be quick in a straight line with their LMP hybrid to try and take a challenge to Audi but both cars suffered retirement in different ways, a huge smash for Ant Davidson's car at the bottom of Mulsanne straight and the other a slow and painful death that eventually retired it in the garage.

both drivers were ok, the Ferarri driver walking away and Anthony Davidson taken to hospital with two broken virtibrae in his back.

Lacked the head to head battle at the front of the pack this year with Peugeot not fielding a factory team against Audi but GTe Pro and GTe AM were close as ever whilst LMP2 cars seem to have become far more reliable with less retirements than previous years, Martin Brundle and his son were a respectable 16th overall/8th in class!

If you haven't seen or read about this car so far, worth a look - Nissan DeltaWing:

eventually got shunted off the track after a safety car period which ended its run...

Well done Audi and roll on 2013, i have to be there next year again

It was going quite well for Toyota... Briefly. With 4 cars that we're faster than anything on track by a fair margin, it was Audi's to lose and with at least one crash for each car, they tried to mix it up! Was good to see the two front cars racing on track for position.after 20 hours or so but they were always going to have team orders applied and McNish's crash near the Porsche curves cemented that towards the end. An interesting race despite the lack of quality LMP1 runners and made all the better by some HD coverage.

Eurosport did full coverage of the race, much of it in HD, so I was able to follow most of it from my Sofa. Hopefully the coverage can keep.improving. They also had the practice, qualifying and group C race on there.

Yep HD was nice as was the running live posting on www.DailySportscar.com to fill in where the TV commentary lacked. The battle between toyota and audi side by side down Mulsanne, along Indianapolis and up to the Porsche Curves was some of the best i have seen in a while, proper balls out racing by both cars
