Hi, I'm new to the forum and I'm about to purchase my first S2.
However the person selling is 500 miles from where I'm. Could you guys let me know if this engine bay is the proper S2 engine? This car is the one with the 01E Transmission?
I was just worried because I saw some models that have a Porsche logo on the intake manifold, I thought it could be the another type of engine.
Really appreciate the help.
The RS2s which were co-developed by Audi and Porsche and given final assembly by Porsche had the "Powered by Porsche" cast into the intake manifolds. That engine was called the ADU. The one you show in the photo is an ABY which was used in the 93-96 S2s as the base for the development of the ADU. Its intake manifold is much the same as the ADU except it doesn't have the Porsche script. Sometimes people add the ADU intake to ABY engines, which is maybe what you had seen. Nothing to worry about.
