R5 2.5l going to be replaced by 1.8TSI in 2014

For EURO 6 emissions it seems like our beloved 5 cylinder is going to be eradicated by the 1.8 TSI 4 cilinder...

MPI is the natural aspirated jetta engine...

Good news is that htere are literally 3/4 million 2.5 MPI engines in North America. We will be supplied for a long time!!

Hopefully they don't kill the TFSI 2.5L in RS models. I still see it having a market there where displacement is still king.

You are welcome guys, since i work in the same sector i do come in contact with latest info shared on conventions etc.
Basically it is all about finding the right compromise between rapid heating for passing emission legislation vs. road reliability.
