Does exists a UrS6 road test??? NON USDM.

    hi everybody

Does anybody know if there's any magazine or TV show chapter with the road test of a C4 S6 (NON United states domestic market)? I'm interested to know the stock and complete specs of this car -road tested-.

I know the UrS4 does a factory claimed 6.7s 0-62mph and so does the UrS6...but the UrS6 weights 150-200kg less than the UrS4. I weighted my car with half a tank of gas and it was 1487kg with a 85kg driver inside (not me )... okay in conclusion, I feel my car a bit faster than that even compared with other cars I "raced" with similar power or even much more... and I am only de-cated but stock exh system, tubular EM, pod filter and stock chipset and k24-7k and everything else...

P.S.: even with bigger diameter tires than stock. 225/55 R16

    greetings,

    Fabs.

First of all you have to realize that each magazine has its own standards about weight. Some weigh with full fuel tanks and no driver, some with empty tanks and drivers and some with half tanks and drivers, some with half tanks no drivers. So weight numbers vary. And then there is sedan/saloon vs avant/estate weights.

As for the UrS6 being lighter than the UrS4, I have no idea why that would be. Either the same or similar for the same level of options and equipment. Weight will depend on things like whether the car has air conditioning and automatic climate control and/or manual heater with no air conditioning. Other things would be airbags or no air bags. So it would be difficult to generalize UrS4 vs UrS6.

0-60 mph times are a factor of many things, perhaps the most important is the RPM at which the clutch is dropped. Some magazine tests were done at 3000 RPM, some at 4000 RPM and at least one at 6000 RPM (they didn't care about the potential damage to the transmissions etc).

That said, here is a sampling of four magazine article results:

    VW Audi Car August 1992 - Audi 100 S4 Estate - 3660 lb., 0-60 mph = 7.0 seconds

    VW Audi Car December 1992 - Audi 100 S4 saloon - 3550 lb., 0-60 mph = 6.7 seconds

    Auto Car and Motor - Nov. 2, 1994 - Audi S6 saloon - 3621 lb, 0-60 mph = 6.4 seconds

    VW Audi Car May 1997 - Audi S6 Estate - 3749 lb., 0-60 mph = 6.2 seconds

I am very sure that you can not draw any conclusions about weight and 0-60 mph times from this data. It depends on factors other than weight.

Yes you are right mate, but I see there's a lot of difference between each test...anyway thanks for your answer
About the weight difference between S6 and S4, I know the S6 has lighter materials in some parts...specially replacing steel for plastic and I see the UrS4's weight is well over 1600kg and my UrS6 is just over 1400. Example: spare tire compartment. I had this doubt due to the FACTS.

      Thanks!

I doubt that URS6 has just over 1400kg, Audi 80 B4 quattro , has a weight of around 1300kg, and it's far lighter than any S4/S6. To remove 200kg from a car, is more that just using plastic in some places.

1487kg with driver, empty LPG tank and some gasoline. Believe it or not, it is like that. I'm not interested in saying a lie here.

I hope that to be the truth, but in the car manual is 1764 kg. Again depends on what option you have . The best way is to weight the car I think.

I think you're talking about the difference between 'kerb weight' and what the weighbridge is reading.

European Directive 95/48/EC defines kerb weight as a 90% fuelled car with all accessories and one 68kg occupant plus 7kg luggage and the spare wheel.

I think the S6 has a 70 litre tank, so kerb weight (officially 1,780kg for the avant) will be around 160kg more than a car with no fuel, passengers or spare wheel (1,620kg).

nah my UrS6 doesn't have many options, it's a bit boring on that side indeed... no tempomat, no sunroof, no heated seats, no leather, no auxiliary heater, 5spd manual gearbox, standard 16" Avus, and what I did NOT have in that moment was the spare tire . I definitely had to take a picture of the total weight screen but I didn't...It was measured 2 years ago after I bought the car at a Italian "MOT" in my town. I'll add some links to show some specs claimed specifications.

Basing the next DECLARED theory, the UrS4 weights more, but it reaches 3kph more of top speed -244kph vs. 241kph S6's- maybe because the lower drag coefficient (bigger frontal area on the S6? Maybe because of the front bumper?? -Cf: 0,30 vs. 0,34-

Factory claimed specs in some websites:
                      CARINF.com UrS6 saloon specs: weights 1446kg
                      CARINF.com UrS4 saloon specs: weights 1611kg

                      AUTOMOBILE-CATALOG.com UrS6 saloon: weights 1445kg
                      AUTOMOBILE-CATALOG.com UrS4 saloon: weights 1610kg (EU)

                      AUTO-DATA.net UrS6 saloon: weights 1650kg <--

This thread got a bit out from what was intended to be... I don't want to create any fight mates, I just remember when my car has been weighted and compared it (at that time) with the links I posted before...BUT always had some specs that declared more than 1600kg...so....I always had that doubt.

                      cheers everybody!!
