I'm trying to make a RS2 register

I have just made a excel file, with most of the data, that could be relevant for a RS2 register, just to keep up with how many of the original 2891 still are alive.

The list looks like this.

That's also what i think, but the funny thing about the Audi RS2 Vin number is, that's it pretty strait forward.

The first Vin for the 1994 model year range, must be: WACZZZ8CZRZ000001

The first in the 1995 model year range, is WACZZZ8CZSZ000001 and the first in the 1996 model year range is, WACZZZ8CZTZ000001.

The total official number of RS2's is 2891, with out the prototypes. The thing that i find most annoying, is that it's not that well documentet, neither in the development nor in the production, as the URquattro og the Sport quattro. And lest face it, the RS2, must be the second most rare Audi ever produced after the Sport quattro.

And it's now over 20 years ago it was first shown as a proto type in the autoshows.

Also, do we know if Audi/Porsche tried to group RHD production together for each model year?

The last one a 1996 should have the chassi no 8C-T-000521, i think this one drives in Sweden right now.

I my self have got the 8C-S-000501 produced between 31.08.94 and 30.09.94.

According to ETKA there was up to 1000 produced in 1994 model year, between 1600 and 1700 in the 1995 model year, and 521 in the 1996 model year, but that doesnt ad up to the total of 2891.

Some say that that the production vin from 000001 to 000100 doens't exist, and that all the cars started. with 000101 in each model year, if that's true, then that means, there were 900 produced in model year 1994, 1670 in model year 1995, and 421 in model year 1996, but this is just speculation on my behalf.

An RS2 is a model, an S2 is a model. Avants and Sedans are submobels.

I like the idea of the RS2 Register. Will help to keep values up in the future.

By registration number would be better than nothing, if people are concerned over chassis numbers. Photos would be good if it was practical. They act as a good snap shot in time of the car and the country where it 'lives'.

Only have S2 Avants myself.

The S2 Avant register was interesting when it was more active. Not an easy job I am the first to admit.

Why arent Coupes included in your figures? And why are you are only quoting ABY powered S2's and not including 3B powered cars?
