I'm trying to make a RS2 register

Hey I think I found a little bit more about the preproduction Guardsred RS2 in NZ.

Besides the odd vin number. The preproduction RS2 has the same sidelist as a S2 which are wider than the RS2, see photo bellow and a Audi logo on it's front fender as a S2, the Guardsred might even be the car shown in the DVD "THE PORSCHE WAY" in the first 5 seconds in the testrig, note the audi logo on the front fenders, and that it has Stuttgart (S) plates, which none of the Presscar RS2's had, they had Ingolstadt plates (IN).

Why arent Coupes included in your figures? And why are you are only quoting ABY powered S2's and not including 3B powered cars?
Are you just picking figures to suit yourself?

Agreed S2 Coupes and 3b cars were not included.

...According to ETKA there was up to 1000 produced in 1994 model year, between 1600 and 1700 in the 1995 model year, and 521 in the 1996 model year, but that doesnt ad up to the total of 2891.

Is this what you were looking at (below)? One local RS2 owner used the info below to get "Collector" license plates (much lower costs) available for owners of very low production cars, e.g. Alpina B10 Biturbo.

I disagree.
An RS2 is a model, an S2 is a model. Avants and Sedans are submobels.

I see your point, but are you saying that the S2 sedan is not a rare car? I think we all agree that it is.

And if anyone say that my Avant is the same car as the S2 coupe, I will personally see to that his stocking is left empty this christmas!

The things i need for this register is:

1. Chassi number or Vin

2. Date of production

3. Date of first registation

4. Engine Code / number

5 Gearbox Code

6. Colour

7. Interior Trim

8. LHD/RHD

9. The Country it was sold to originally

10. The Country it is in now

11. Status: With number plates, No numberplates or scrapped.

Thats about it, you can just pm me the details, then ill put it in the register

Dave, I must be thick, what is that showing exactly? (apart from RS2 VIN's).

The rough numbers built in each of the three model years (but they got vague in the last month of the model year run and didn't actually post the last VIN for that year, just the 001000 (etc) (lame).

It was good enough data for an RS2 owner in my area (skiguy on our little email list) to get his collector plates.

By the way, I found out from this page, that your originally was registered in Germany, which makes it even more possible that the car shown on the test rig, infact is yours

Is the car still Guardsred read somewhere on the internet, that it was repainted, by the first owner in NZ. But it didnt stated if it was in guardsred or laserred.

So your car is actually a RS2 missing link

Do you have the engine number which is stamped in to the block??
