    Wheels Et37 Verses Et45

I want to go down the 5 stud hub route for my 80 V6 Avant and i will be putting the standard 16" Avus S2 alloys on when acheived.

The standard 15" 4 stud speedline 10 spokes on my V6 avant have a ET of 37. I want to get hold of the exact same looking 15" speedline wheels but in 112 5 stud as audi did them for the C4 100/A6.The trouble is the ET is different on the 5 stud speedline 10 spokes at ET 45.

How is that going to look? Will the wheel be further out towards the arch or further in?

    Thanks for your help Guys.

With an ET 45 wheel of the same width as an ET 37 wheel, the ET 45 wheel will sit 8mm further in towards the suspension compared to the ET 37 wheel.

      Thanks for that.

So i need an 8mm spacer to bring it back like the ET 37 wheel. Both wheels are 7J. Where would you recomend to get an 8mm spacer from? Dont want to buy rubbish.Cheers.

What width tyres ate you going to run? What width is the wheel?

I run Avus 6 spokes on the coupe with 10mm spacers up front and 15mm at the rear. I want to run 20mm at the rear to fill out the arches even better. Those are 7.5J fitted with 205/55R16 tyres. No rubbing on a lowered car.

          Hi VSD,

          A good idea to migrate to 5 x 122 on the V6.

If it was me, :roll eyes: when done I'd use 16" inch Avus S2 rims, cheap as chips and look good when refurbished, but with 225/50/16 tyres.

I think the rolling radius should be fine, the comfort will be perfect, and the grip will be good.

Use Dunlop SP Sport Maxx RT tyres.

After a while decide if you need spacers to fill the arch a little bit more without rubbing the arch. Lower the car as well.

          HTH.

I am not worried about the C4 100/A6 15" 10 spoke speedline with ET 45 as andy1ov says its 8mm futher in towards the strut. On those alloys they are 7j same as the Et37 4 stud variety and i am using 205/60,s so no change in tyre size.

But now you mention the S2 alloys on 205/55 which will also be used on there for summer use you think they will sit differently? Not sure of their Et (S2 6 spoke alloys) . Is there a difference between the standard V6 hub compared with S2 5 stud hub face ie does the S2 hub sit further out towards the arch when fitted or vise versa?

Yes that's what i am trying to do if someone/anyone will relinquish some S2 front hubs to me for a reasonable price.

Alternatively i will buy a too far gone S2 and strip the parts i need for free and sell of the remainding parts which will be loads. All i need is hubs or perhaps whole struts/hubs would be better and then Go down the route of A4 rear suspension set up but again easy to fit but have to check what differences there are concerning the 80 verses A4 centreline or not etc.

6 spoke Avus are either ET37 or ET38 and are 7.5J.

Thanks Rusty. I have a brand new set of Avus 6 spoke alloys bought 7 years ago.So fine there. I will have to check them later. The question of how the 5 stub hub sits compared to the 4 stub hub in relation the wing arch still needs addressing if anyone knows?
