    urS6 / S2 / RS2 airbag interchangable? ...

So, I have a urS6 with the Sport airbag steering wheel. Mine is a North American market car. Pictured below. I also have a spare of the same variety.

My question is if this airbag / wheel is the same as that on an RS2 (also with the "Sport" airbag wheel)

    I see that the US urS6 airbag part number is 4A0 880 201 B or L
    I see the RS2 airbag part number is 4A0 880 201 E

I don't think there is any real difference, and they look identical, but not sure why the different letter extensions on the part number. Wondering if someone could explain any said difference, and if they are interchangable.

I know on the later cars, like my C5 Allroad, you can use any C5 or A4 airbag from that time period. They are totally interchangable and all work/connect the same.

The different letter could be due just to the four rings emblem.
Chrome on S2/S4 and A4 B5 and Cabriolets
    Black on the RS2
But don't take my words as vangel I'm assuming.

I can surely tell you that the three spoke sport steering wheels of my 1997 Cabriolet and my 1995 RS2 are interchangable the only difference (apart for the emblem) it's that you can feel between your hands that the RS2 one it's thicker

Can't upload pics right now but here you can see the blackish/anodized rings on an RS2 wheel.

Picked this up a few months ago for what I considered to be a steal, but there are only 12 here (New Zealand) so understanding fair market value is a bit of a guessing game. Basics: - 1995 / 96 - Has a VIN that indicates 96 but was registered in NZ as a 95. - Brilliant Black exterior, Black...

I would tend to agree with Venito. I just changed exactly the same steering you pictured from my march 1997 2.8 30V C4 A6 into my 1996 S6 runout plus speck as they look identical. There have been no issues at all with the Airbag light even though the part numbers were slightly different. Can't remember should have photographed them. I noted also that a genuine S6 steering wheel has S6 printed onto the circuit board and where the 30v doesn't say S6.The RS2 one should have RS2 printed onto the circuit board if logic follows. So i would say yes they are interchangeable. For S6 guys people selling S6 steering wheels don't be fooled, most are not genuine S6.

Thanks for the prompt reply guys!

I thought they would all be interchangeable, but wanted to check with the forum group first. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I am guessing the part number has to do with the anodized rings. That would make sense. I never noticed that difference before.

I think the badge at the bottom of the middle is different between the S cars and the RS2. The RS2 badge is deeper with Porsche written on it?

I believe that in size it's sligthly bigger then the "S" one.
In aspect it's just a dwarf of front and back ones.

Correct. The RS2 steering wheel is a different PN than the UrS6 sport steering wheel because of the size of the "sport" UrS6 and RS2 steering wheel badges. However, that doesn not impact the airbag situation. Totally independent thing.
