Shock horror - I rather like the look of that - very surprised by that... not much of anything new from Audi these days gets a 2nd look from me - except the latest RS4 and R8 beasts.

Just noticed some small print in that article about the picture actually being of some A3 derived sports CONCEPT car - the RS3 mentioned in the article is going to be derived from some god awful A3 hatchback shape.

Loving that. IIRC that was the concept they did for Worthersee with around 500hp.

I doubt they will make a hatchback RS3, too much competition for the TT platform. RS3 saloon would be awesome.
Doubt any fast Audi will ever get a manual box again due to emissions.

S-Tronic/DSG/PDK type trannys are worth their weight in gold for turbo cars, especially ones with bigger turbos. No delay/boost drop between shifts.
Just look at how it took the performance of cars like the R35 GTR, 997.2TT(S) and MP4-12C to a whole different level than what their power/weight ratio would indicate.
0-60 times in the 2's and 1/4's in the 10s.

That looks very nice to be honest if I was serious in changing the S2 I would probably opt for another Coupe and go for the RS5 now thats a machine

They are hard to match from a standing start, but above approx 55mph (ie boost in 3rd) they can be disposed of.

Yea Paul, Its a few years away so plans and confirmations can change but boy Id jump all over that RS3 Sedan. When the quattro concept got diminished it broke my heart Id hope Audi would bring some real Coupes back into the fold. Paddle shift on a car like this is fine by me who doesn't play Forza
