I am back on the case of the 16V to 20VT history story. This will include Oettinger, DRAKE and GRAF as well as the early VW 16V. I have bumped into comments from somebody at DRAKE suggesting how bad the VW 16V design was based on valve angles and the intake and exhaust port designs. On this basis, I am searching for a cross section of the Sport Quattro KW 20VT head, showing enough info to measure valve angles, etc. So far I have a KW cut-away (but not enough detail for my needs) and a very recent new "S1" head with amazing detail (but 30+ years too new). I am hoping for something like the early 16V VW brochure but for the Sport Quattro KW.

I've save all the pages in that article. I notice that in addition to the "25 deg" comment they also mention "asymmetrical" which I take to mean that instead of the intake and exhaust valve stems both being 12.5 deg off the centerline of the piston, the are something like 5 degs and 20 degs. The issue now we be to figure out what the real numbers are.
