very forgettable looking for a supercar. I dont care if manuals are slower. Its about the driving experience.
I think there is no manual version because the average R8 owner is just a rich poser, not a person who is really interested in cars or an involving driving experience.
Seems, i never gonna have one

I like the noise, that is all.
Face it guys, the manual gearbox's days are numbered, due to emissions crap etc.
I do want a vicious coupling though

Have been driving this new V10 Plus S tronic on track and on normal road conditions. I have to say that even though I think oldschool power and principles rules there is no better substitute to power delivery than the R8 does. Every gear change is brutal and with a right setup the car does not change gear if driver will not allow/want it...

Me and my Dad done one of those driving experiences last year. There was an V10 R8 in the line up. Very nice machine to drive. Anyway all of the driving instructors when asked what was their favourite car, they all pointed towards the R8. Even though there where Lambo's, Aston's, Ferrari's and a Mclaren in the mix. A very capable and well balanced car, the Instructors chanted

Ive been lucky enough to have had one of the very first UK r8's for a few weeks before I sold it back in 2007...though it didnt have much oomph being a V8 the manual gearbox was really engaging and a pleasure to CLICK CLACK through. Since then I've driven all variants of the V10 both with manual, and R-tronic and the S-tronic. The R-Tronic/S-tronic isnt less fun at all. Its just a different experience. Theyre very competent round tracks like Spa, where in fact an R8 really shows what fantastic balance it has. Definately one of the best supercars in that respect. Have also had the pleasure of tracking a V10 with a Heffner Twin Turbo kit which had in excess of 850hp and about 1200+ nm of torque at Spa and Nurburgring, even with all that power the car coped admirably albeit for a few spool up moments which could catch you out coming out of bends.
