    RS2 manual, books

after much deliberation and saving money, im now ready to buy an LHD RS2. i found some very decent models in germany and switserland and am contacting the respective owners.

id like to get a book that explains the basics of the car and its engine. mainly for maintenance and understanding the seller's opinion about the car. im quite a novice.

amazon sells a few books about maintaining specific audi models, like the 80, the quattro etc.

my question is - is there any point in buying one of those books to teach me about the engine, or would there just be too many differences with the car im planning on buying? or are there any official manuals floating around?

    thanks v much

Official manuals and books are almost.... non existant. The best website to use for info on the RS2 is Pauls S2central web sit, all the info you could need is on there. Workshop manuals etc just don't exist really in paper, all the information you need to perform any work on the car is in the heads of the owners here on the forum :-) just post a specific question and you'll get all the answers you need :-)

Check S2 Central first for all the base information you need right now.

Well the manuals do exist officially at Audi's ERWIN site - cheap enough for basic info - but it gets complex and expensive when trying to find all relevant data and schematics.

http://S2central.net should get you going on the basics, but it is far from a complete technical resource on these cars - I only have so much time available to update the site.

As Martyn says - on a day-to-day basis, this forum is THE best place to ask questions. There's almost always someone who has seen it / done it before you !

        Check this site http://www.rs2.ch/

It has copies of some official factory manuals online. I assume, that German language is not a problem for you .

                Manual

                Hi,

You can buy a cd-rom at bentleypublishers with plans and detailed pictures of the engine, you can search everything you need to know or do on the engine on it.

Works great, and it's worth the money (costs 100 euros)
