  • Who's seen the hottest tempretures this past week?

It's a Sunday morning so why not have a non automotive thread.

I'm curious to know where's been the hottest this week as there's often local hot spots that don't get reported on, I know it was even warmer last month in the south east of the UK but this past week seems have been universally hot.

It's been 34/5C in the shade here a couple of times but I'm sure it must have been above that in the midlands and east of the country.

Some modern midi stuff just. A new (in the wrapper) Haynes manual for a 1975ish Audi 80(?) did catch my eye though.......then I'd need to find a '75 Audi 80!!

.......and a Millennium Falcon.....might go back see if it's still there?!

43C in leathers, F that! Okay on the move but being stationary would be hell and your in London so it's not like you can just take to the open road, you must have had wring the sweat out of your kit!

I seem to recall that those are now highly collectable, might be worth bagging if it's not too expensive. I owned one when I was a kid, had it for a long time but never thought to keep the box and packaging and I can't recall what finally became of it, pity. There again giving a child a toy and insisting they're not allowed to open it is pretty cruel.

Temperature in my garage went to a record high when one of the Allen head bolts on the pas pump mount started to round out

Oh dear... If your stuck hammer a spline key into it, never fails, though I expect you already know this tactic.

I actually have an Allen head extractor set. They have like a twisted head that grips well but getting another bolt is going to be fun

I know the sort of tool you mean, got them at work, but me being a creature of habit I always use the hammer something oversize into the head method, I guess they'd be really useful in tight spot where there isn't room to tap a bit in.

What size bolt are you after Dave? I have probably 100kg's of random VAG fixings, can probably find you something that's good match unless it's something bizarre like M7 which I strongly doubt.
