  • SPAM filters/Orange E-mail accounts

I've got an old 'freeserve' (now Orange) e-mail account that is hit by at least 40 'Erectile dysfunction' - 'Replica Watch' and 'casino gambling' SPAM every day, I’ve set up pretty much the limit on all the filters with the block list also full, yet I still get 3 or 4 a day slip through to my in box... Basically, how do I completely filter this Cr@p without closing the account... Or have I just answered the question.

Think you answered your own question there mate. Left orange and went to plusnet, haven't looked back.

Do you download your email via outlook/thunderbird/etc or use the webmail?

It seems to be the same story with all the accounts I know of, since Orange took over the spam flows in.

Create multiple Send/Recieve Groups (Ctrl+Alt+S). Have the main one set to just download the headers and a second one which does the full items apart from the junk folder. Once you have the headers, Outlook should move your spam to the junk folder then you can delete all the cr@p and then do a full send/recieve using your second Send/Recieve Group. This could be streamlined somewhat with clever use of the syncronisation settings so that there's no need for any manual input, e.g. Group 1 on F9, every 1 minute and on exit then Group 2 every 5 minutes and on exit (but remember that the junk folder should still be set to "headers only" in Group 2 just in case you haven't had time to empty it or don't have a rule to do it for you).
