I'm still waiting to hear about mine if that I will be loosing it.

someone at work went for the voluntary redundancy as he had not been there that long, he's not english and basically his english is not up to much so when he wrote out the letter to apply for volutary redundancy he wrote it out for volutary resignation, promptly handed it in and had it accepted by work and lost all he was entitled to

yeah its pretty terrible at the moment, just held onto my job but not feeling desperately secure in this climate. Hope you find something soon and I think I'll keep that window cleaning in my back pocket in case things change!

Hard working clever people (almost everybody on hear) can and will get through this period of adjustment, the danger is we talk it into more than it is.

Hang on in there people good times will return.

As has been said above what ever pays the bills

                          cheers

Sorry to hear about all the lay offs, I had the same about a year ago ...I'm still pressing on with my self employment and it is beginning to pay off, but I am a long way from making a steady income at this stage ...glad that I had a fair chunk of money saved up for this sort of thing but it won't last forever (and the government ain't interested in people with savings so the falling interest rates do nothing for me). Hey ho, I'm sticking at it for now and looking at various outlets for my efforts.
