I found that the local scrappy will take them, but you only get a decent payout if the cat is genuine and not after market and then you would need proof of ownership.
Might be different in your neck of the woods

When you say 'the metal from a catalyst' do you mean just the insides?if so you may stuggle to sell it,if it is the whole thing take it to EMR,no proof of ownership needed and they will give you the proper going rate which will be considerable for a 735

I am not sure if emr kettering know what they are doing with cats,some places are specialists.Salford/gloucester/swindon all know the score,just call them before you go to save a wasted trip.They should have a computer with all the pictures of 100s of cats on it and are all in classes
