I was using it more as a reference of long sustained high rpm where dwell angles and slower piston speeds are advantageous. A drag car will not benefit from this as you need it to climb through the rev range quickly.

              well Chef..........

i was actually just drawing up dimensions for a spit to get the shell up and i can move it about, more importantly get the shell out of the way as its blocking the motor in!
Will drag the AAN out, strip it and take it to JP end of the month (confirm with JP ofcourse!)

got my valver 80 Quattro saloon is T&T`d and just dyno`d @ 144bhp that can be driven and forgotten about

was browsing Catcams site, but last time i spoke with JP he said he could supply them, im happy to do this as saves any issues down the pecking order lol

fine details of the engine build will be discussed then i think, no hurry for engine to be done though.

will then decide on the gearbox, 5sp or 6sp, ratios (very wide 1st, very close rest, top speed etc etc etc)

ANY input is appreciated by the way lads

im away on a course in derby from 28th of the month for a week, when i return the spit will be ready

              Things done so far:
Wiring all cut out what i am not using (still retaining road lights/indicators for MOT )
Just ordered a heat gun to strip the interior
              um,
just the fuel tank to drop out and n/s doors to remove as its pushed right over to one side, hence the need for a spit.

lots of plans, no time, didnt have a car to use due to canceled insurance policys etc etc (still not refunded after 8 weeks of hastle!)

BUT i will be buying a camera specificaly to stay at the workshop

              Cheers, Sean

                    im guessing this is suitable

Or just wait till dec/jan, leave the car outside over night.

Sounds like an interesting project. The short stroke cranck has crossed my mind once to. I like revvers.

Looks like you are serious about this. So keep up the good work and make it happen. Sadly there are to much of similar threads around that have stranded.

im focussed on this project Jeffer,

now i have a bit of stability in my life i can get cracking.

just need power tools in my workshop (metalwork grinders, MIG welder and eventually TIG)

and it should all be sorted, JP can do his witchcraft on the oily bits

i will probebly run the car with another engine once completed in april/may next year to make sure it can handle the new engine and get a few laps in to set the suspension up etc

really looking forward to it if im honest, this will be my dream car build no.2

when the A4 is finished then i will start on my prototype Rouse Sport sierra but thats another chapter lol

any of you lads run straight cut `boxes?

are they very noisey and what kits/boxes are you using?

the noiseyer the better for me

i know http://www.ppgearbox.com.au/ do kits, but only for FWD transaxle.........

                              any more ideas?

                              cheers
