    My Attitude completely...

    **** the neighbours...

They clear the snow and then it Freezes & turns to Ice so no one can get off the road (Even watched some pillock wash his XJ yesterday and made it 200% worse)

Only problem living with 10 bob millionaires...

Do they come and help me when all the leaves from their tree's blog up my drive - Do they ****....

Maybe I can gaffer tape a plank of wood to the A6 as a makeshift plough?

Just watched a neighbour driving off... front wheel drive and an open diff... limping out slowly with one wheel spinning

Might have to go clear some.... do my community service and what not...

Interesting to read the different views on this. I posted up to find out why so few people had done anything about the sheet ice on the paths and roads and whether the fear of legal action had anything to do with it, as I'd had a couple of people mumble something along those line to me. Doesn't seem that many have sited this as a reason and also seems that on here at least, some are willing to get their hands cold and wet.

          I cleared 2 45 feet+ drives Saturday n Sunday
Did the path outside my house but if anyone slips its their fault for not having a quattro!
I live in one of the highest villages in stoke, the muppets round here only do their drive to let Tesco deliver!
Told my parents stay in as their drive is longer than mine

I live up decent Hill, every vehicle we have is 4wd, I have welly boots and a dog, if other people are less prepared, they deserve to park on their ****.

PS I voted for the 'to lazy' but I have been working long hours snow clearing and rescuing with this...

Just cleared the path for the next few doors down.

The car park ramp so I can get in and out reliably.

And most important, a path from my door, across the road, to the pub.

                  Wish we had snow here

Then again, it would cause chaos, even a bit of rain and people get stuck in a ditch here

It's great fun for the first day when it's all fresh and snowy but if it stays after that, it all goes to ice and everything takes 2x or 3x as long to do, even walking to the pub is like an Arctic exploration!

Walking to the pub would be impossible from where I'm at if it snowed or was icey.

It's about a 15 minute walk all uphill in normal conditions, and with Maltese tarmac + ice, no chance

Would be a nice way down with a sledge though

I spent a winter in Canada about 10 years ago (actually scares me it was that long ago) and you had to clear pavements. I did the whole block 3-4 times a day, but then i was using a neighbours 4x4 quad bike with a plow for the season... Was good fun on the large car park opposite too

This time I was unprepared, no salt and no shovel, and no time for anything but work but I like to think I would have otherwise cleared the path outside the house. Certainly nobody else on the street bothered so I dont feel bad.

Very surprised the RS6 did so well on fat summer tyres, with ESP off it handled it well. I expected it to be a handful. Then again i didnt tackle much gradients. The RS2 has winter rubber but its in need of tax + MOT, few jobs need doing first

Snow is a fact of life here... so when it dumps I do one of two things:

                            1) wait until the bylaw says the snow has to be cleared down to the pavement (within 48hrs of most recent snowfall), then start shoveling;

                            2) say "F- that!" and go snowboarding for a few days.

Either way, I'm only going to shovel once, every couple of days. It'll just come back or melt, so I'm in no hurry.
