  • Can anyone recommend a VPN?

Have decided to bite the bullet and get a VPN as my ISP has started blocking some torrent sites.

I know quite a few people on here are techy so thought I'd see what everyone was using?

Let me guess piratebay? Stupid law just passed here requiring ISP's to block it

Do you really mean VPN or are you looking for a proxy server?

I've been experimenting with this https://www.torproject.org/download/...d-easy.html.en its basically a remote proxy/self contained web browser so you can access these blocked sites. As torrents are P2P all you need is to browse the site and download the .torrent file. Once imported into your torrent program it will download as normal. Its a bit slow and clunky but it works for the odd time i want to search a blocked site. Piratebay being the only one i know of over here.

I'm sure there are countless other internet proxys available to do the same thing, but you have to setup your browsers to connect through them and to be honest i just dont trust them. You dont know who or what is looking at the traffic going through them.

Cheers for the replies. I use quite a few of the proxy sites at the mo but just thought it was time to get completely secure as I'm sure it won't be long before my ISP starts sending out letters if they've now started blocking sites.

I doubt they care about the content your downloading, they just dont like people using p2p as it creates a lot of network traffic, and usually people who download torrents are the ones using 100's of GB a month. A good customer is the one who pays £50 a month to read the news every now and again.
