Driver door wont lock after door card replacement

Dont know if anyone has had this before but I was adjusting the window on a cabriolet to close up a window gap, so it has just had another spacer at the bottom and nothing else was touched. When I put the door card back on with handle and pull, the driver door will not lock. Seems as if the push down lock is being hindered by the door card. I have changed loads of door cards and locks in the past and never had this problem. If I leave the door card off it works fine, I have changed the lock and the actuator and the pull cable is running freely. Any thoughts on this appreciated.

Mark, I had exactly the same problem last week after changing the door card rubbers. You have most likely not positioned the internal door handle cables in the correct seat.

take the door handle off and make sure that the retaining cup on the cable is on the locating slot furthest into the handle. Once it’s in the right place it should work
