Hi. I have purchased Audi S2 Coupe couple months ago as a little project. Car is running S2 setup with RS2 ECU.As far as I am aware ecu has not been remapped and runs original programme. Any risk to my car? What problems I could experience? What would you advise as I am novice on this field.

Rob,
If you have the stock S2 turbo, manifold, injectors but the RS2 map it is unlikely to run optimally and may overboots the standard urbo. Are you sure its running stock S2 running gear?Greg

That what I was told by the previous owner. Few years ago he upgraded headgasket to RS2 one, and put rs2 turbo, intercooler and ECU. Than recently he sold turbo and intercooler and put s2 stock one and put s2 ecu but when I bought car he said that it will run better on rs2 ecu and I agreed to swap it not realizing what effect it will have. Car drives fine thou.Comment

One way of establishing what ecu you have with out physically removing it and opening it up for inspection would be to use VCDS/Vagcom and see what the ecu fields display. That would establish the sw at least!
Visually look at the fuel injectors and see what colour they are.
Would have thought that keeping the RS2 ecu would have been more profitable to be honest.Comment

I think it would be cheaper to buy standard ABY/3B Ecu then remap the Rs2 Ecu.
If you do that you could always sell Rs2 ecu.sigpic_________

All you should need to do is get hold of some home fries if its on stock S2 running gear now and swap out the chips in your ECU. I cant remember if the RS2 ECU has an upgraded MAP sensor though? But that way you can sell on the RS2 spec chips or keep if you later fit an RS2 turbo and get the benefits of 280hp home fry setup rather than stock s2 230hp.Greg
