ABY Coupe exhaust advice needed please.

Just looking at putting Powerflow exhaust on ABY coupe, they all seem to be catback. Dowpipe is good but flanges on cats have completely gone and I dont know if the cats are still functioning, just wondering what the options are for replacing cats which I am taking more seriously as my usual mot centre has become stricter on passing emissions as Vosa is apparently tightening up on all mot stations. I would prefer an off the shelf option as I am fitting it myself. Peoples thoughts on this would be appreciated. Cheers

I fitted this front end then attached to rear milltek cat back ..sports cats stainless rs2 . People say get rid of cats but hassle at MOT time so went with this ... Sounds nice but car not on road yet so keen to see how she goes.

Chap from Poland makes them, they're around £1000 now but I paid around £800 . Think he advertises on eBay .

I took my cats off because flanges where rotten I fitted empty cans bought from a forum member passed MOT fine you only need cats if it has a post fitted lambda sensor ours are pre fitted so sensor measure O2 content before cat sensor sends info to ECU mine has passed MOT about 3 times since no problems

Further to my post testers manual states this from 1/8/92 up to 1995 CO content 3.5% .(HC) 0.12 % a good lambda sensor will take care of that

That's good to know but unfortunately the car I am working on is a 1996.

Your best to take it to Exaust specialist have them look at what they can do to flanges replace or fit v-bands instead no gaskets needed. And have a look at your cats if there’s no rattling or holes I’m sure they will be fine then you only need to pay for flanges and labour cheap fix unless you want a brand new Exaust from cat back like above for £1000

Cheers for that Mac, yes that is what I have been thinking, rest of exhaust cat back is actually quite good with no blows, cats are not rattling and no sign of holes so worth the risk of putting back on for cost of some welding.
