  • Where is it today?

having a bit of a trip down memory lane and was wondering where my old S2 is these days....?

I saw it was on ebay a while ago under a different registration plate
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-S2-2...p2047675.l2557

    my build thread was
    https://www.s2forum.com/forum/member...ersion?t=71159

just curious and wondering if she is still alive?

My Audi stable has moved on and am now enjoying the modern version of an S2 in the shape of an S5 V8

which is just as much as a money pit as the S2 ever was lol

Looking at the ebay ad its still being well looked after. How does the S5 compare to an S2? SCars are always a moneypit aren't they?

It does yes, was just curious if it was still here... The new owner had added some more upgrades.
How does the S5 compare? Dynamically very similar to the S2. Technologically very different but then it is far newer... Running costs are similar but it is easier to get more hp out the S2 than the V8 as it's N/A. Just like the S2, the S5 is keeping is design timeless....
They are easy to modify though.... Suspension, brakes, exhausts etc....

Would i have an S5 instead of my S2? No, I'd have both....

I quite like an S5 actually - in certain colours on the right wheels they look great - and whats not to like about a burbly V8 (other than the fuel bill and some of them now in monster tax bracket) ?
The only thing I would maybe swap the B6S4 Avant for is an S5 but I am not going down that rabbit hole anytime soon - got enough work cut out on other S-cars to do me for a long time.

The fuel bill is horrendous hahaha, tax isn't too bad at £46 a month. Pay to play and all that...!!! The V8 in the S5 is a later version of the B6/B7 variant and they have eradicated the tensioner issues on this. Of course the other side of the coin is carbon build up.
Slowly saving up the pennies for a supercharger conversion but that won't be anytime soon lol... exhaust is next on the list for me.

The NA V8 engines seemingly respond well to a less restrictive exhaust. I have my eye on some custom tubular 4-2-1 headers for my B6 S4 with the primary CATs removed, but it needs remapped properly to make the most of that. I had a short run out in another car with that setup and it was night and day difference (butt dyno was telling me ~400bhp) - true that also had a lightened flywheel but no fancy internals - just the exhaust and a generic remap. I think his exhaust had an X-pipe as well - it sounded amazing on full chat and was not obnoxious while cruising & idling.

They do sound good with a free flowing exhaust. The headers on the S5 are fairly free flowing but there are improvements to be had, the downside is they are impossible to get to without removing the engine and gearbox.... bad enough getting to the cats, that entails driveshafts out the way and lowering the gearbox etc....
              X-pipe is major requirement though.....

sadly wasn't my choice, split up with the then other half, car was in her name, despite me paying for it all. She came one night when I wasn't home and took it. Police showed no interest as it was in her name. Despite me proving i'd paid for it all.
