Selling advice

I will be putting my S2 avant up for sale soon. There have been a few cars up for sale over the last few months. What I wanted to ask is which market place (auto trader, eBay, gumtree, Facebook, forums, etc) do people find they are getting the most interest or success in selling there cars? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i would say forums, ebay, classic car magazines.

I will put it up on this forum and ebay seems a good shout. My dad sold a few thing on Facebook marketplace and he said you have to deal with a lot of numpties. Anyone got experience of that?

Numpties, Yes but on ebay and Gumtree!
As suggested, this forum first as your car is rather special, then ebay. Good luck anyway. Hopefully it will go to another forum member.

Mentioning the group buy on Facebook really made me wish I hadn't. Most of the people were fine but some seemed to really struggle with reading and writing and especially comprehension...

I think your right by say numpties are unavoidable now a days. Will get it fired up on here and ebay. I will need to get my build thread up to date too. Not updated it for about 2 years!

I found it today and it's very interesting. Wish I found it before I did my rebuild as there is some very useful stuff in there

I will add you to the list of people wanting to buy them. In fact if I had as much interest in the car as I do the wheels. Selling it would be a piece of cake!

Haha, think you were actually! I have a price in my head for the car with all the work I have in the car. I'm in no rush to sell but if it looks like It's a no go at that price I will consider selling some of the aftermarket bits.

I think you will get that, if not a bit more to be honest, as long as you are not in a rush, since its such a niche car. The good ones do sell for good (sensible) money

Yeah, I have wondered what to price it for! I was going to go through the folder of receipts I have for the car the other day and add up what I've spent but decided against it. Think I will leave it for the new owner to do. I have a big pile of upgrade parts to sell too (turbo, down pipe, fuel pump, injectors, etc) to sell too.

I put mine on Ebay as a classified ad. It was only £15 for 28 days. I also advertised it on here and on Classic Audi. It sold via CA. I only had 1 person contact me and that was the buyer
