Fast forward to 11 minutes into this video. Gale Banks is a wizard on engine development. This is an interesting lesson on the importance of a decent crank damper.

Interesting video, I'm now watching his 'Killing a Duramax' series which is equally interesting. Part 4 he's showing, with comprehensive data, why having a cone filter is a bad idea. I'll be making changes to my engine bay after watching this, there's free HP to be had!!

I think the rubber in the damper was worn,Which I didn’t know? I thought I pushed the car too much! I sold it to John Wain he took it to get balanced and he sent me a video of his which was out then mine was totally out so I gave him his money back and he sent it back to me which I still have I guess only way to know is to send it of to America to get reconditioned they will know if the rubber inside is badly worn?
Gale Banks is also a true believer in charge air density and not just what the boost gauge says.
his Killing A Duramax series of vids is very interesting. He also sells a kit he calls iDash or something like that. It measures all parameters in the engine bay and shows you where you could be having problems. He has been developing forced induction engines for decades. Well worth a viewing...
