    Electric window rrlay

Question. My windows have packed up. Everything points to the relay because after investigation I can see that it has already been messed with as there is a thin cable tie holding the base on. Considering where the relay is situated how do you get at it because I can't get my should size hands up there. Are you able to drop the whole thing down to gain access or do you train a young child with tiny hands to get it

Is this one thats located up under the dash near the fusebox? Im not aware of any way to drop them down, but you have to be a bit of a contortionist to get to some of the electrics.

Mine just died as well. Well, the sunroof stopped working while I was putting it all back together and windows dead as well so I suspected the relay. It's the big rectangular one that sits under the dash. I found one dry solder joint inside. Re flowed it and cleaned the contacts with a soft toothbrush and contact cleaner. Now all good. I have huge hands but didn't find it too difficult to remove. On the Avant, its up one row on the right as you look up. Ease it gently out side to side.

Like yours Dave, ours went ‘dry joint’ several years ago, ‘30 seconds with the soldering iron and it has been fine ever since.
