This doesn’t just apply to brexit. No matter what country your in you can’t vote for change but expect it to stay the same

Indeed, your quite right.
However, it is now more straight forward for me to send items to the USA than it is to any EU member state.
Considering the former has to cross the Atlantic ocean then get through US customs which are notoriously strict I don't see why it should be so much hassle to send things across the English channel as a private individual.
Still it was it is what it is.
I've been keeping an eye on the tracking for the item and all seems to be going smoothly, the package has left the UK.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

You can get the codes from this site for UK export. Alternatively its sometimes easier to type in google examples like : uk tariff code car driveshaft which would get you a code of: HS Code 84831095 - Main, shafts, driving.

I tried that and got that code, still wouldn't work, just said code not recognised.
Anyway the package is nearly in Holland now.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

It is something of a ridiculous situation. As I said I've recently sent parts to the USA and that was less hassle than booking a European delivery which really doesn't make a great deal of sense.
I could understand there being extra restrictions on business sellers but for private individual's to require an EORI number which one has to apply to HMRC to get does seem a little over the top.

Oh bother, sorry about that, from what I read up over here about sending items to the EU, there should be no tax to pay on Personal Effects and Gifts.
Did they give a reason why you had to pay the tax?1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

That really sucks!
So you have to pay to have your own stuff shipped to you in the EU, like that makes any sense.
That's it, from now on I'm not sending items to Europe unless the buyer is ready for a nasty surprise.
Again, I'm really sorry you had to pay that, that's over 30%on top of their value which is outrageous.

Thanks for be cool about it Jan...
At least they've gotten to you safe and sound.
I still think 30%+ tax is simply extortionate
