  • Location of the outside ambient temperature sensor

Where is this located? It previously seemed to work fine and gave a pretty accurate reading of the outside temperature but lately it’s all over the place up to 45’c then E. I think it might be dislodged from where it should be and its reading the temp in the engine bay or somewhere pretty hot.

Under the bonnet, in the heater box air track ISTR.

when you stand between the headlights, go top right area, it’s under the black trim below the windscreen.

I thought it was behind the bumper on right hand side?

Might be I’m thinking of the air con recirculation motor (page 9). Sorry.

It is behind the bumper. On my car it's on the LHS ahead of the radiators.

There is a thermal sensor, actually a thermal switch on cars without climate control, in the heater inlet tract on cars with AC. It's there to shut off the AC compressor at temperatures below 5 degrees C to prevent the evaporator matrix inside from freezing up and blocking all air from coming into the car.

My car has A/C so I’ll look for this one too.
