I have a friend in Germany. Message me. I'm sure they'll help.

I too tried to buy off Kleinanziegen and wrote to them about their need for a German phone number for authentication. They said there was nothing they could do to work around this so it seems a German contact who is willing to register, purchase and potentially post items (although a post forwarding service could be an option), is the only solution. A bit frustrating are there seems to be some good parts available through Kleinanziegen.

I have my Dutch +316..... number registered and validated at kleinanzeigen.
        Maybe their rules have changed.

I think EU countries can register but not those outside. I just looked again, no option for Australia unfortunately

I’m in the US looking for an S2 in Europe and wasn’t making any progress since, as pointed out, a number of the Classifieds sites require a European phone number in order to contact the sellers.

I used Orange Flex to get a Polish number and it works great and is about $9USD per month. I’m pretty sure I’ll also be able to use it for data roaming when I travel to Europe as an added bonus.

I have an iPhone and added the Orange number as a second eSIM and texts come in just like any other text.

Check out the alternative to contract and prepaid offers. Orange Flex is a modern in-app mobile network – no long contract and no top-ups!

Did anyone have any luck via a contact in Germany to buy something on kleinanzeigen?

Nah, but still looking into it. As scott12v says, one way would to get a virtual phone number through one of the various online providers

So I've signed up for a virtual number in the Netherlands via Moremins. Cost me 30 Euros for 12 months. Not tried it out yet but pretty confident it will work.

I managed to get signed up. I used a friend of my son’s EU number, they got a text with a 6 digit code, my son text it to me and tada, I downloaded a
google translate camera app and I’ve bought a pair of uR quattro front seat squabs from Fred in Austria. I’ll post some photos if they arrive lol.
