As the title suggests just a quickie really who do you think should or will partner hamilton next year ??
Me personally i think it will be kovalinen with alonso going back to renault ??
What do you think???
I'd love to see Button and Hamilton at McLaren as an all British team, but can't ever see that happening as Button has commited to wasting his career at BAR
Kovalinen would be exciting, but i think might be a risk for them with two relatively "inexperienced" drivers.
yeah true but who else is there most drivers are tied down to contracts . I agree button does need a good car to show what he can do but i think he will stay at honda now ross brawn is there that honda will be a different car next year.
De la rosa the test driver is an option but only short term he is what 36 and if he was that quick he would not be a test driver i think he is there last resort.
I hope Mclaren take a risk with a youngster so they can build a team for the next ten years
A few contenders in my opinion
Rosberg
Kubica
Kovalinen
Piquet jnr
Sutil
what does every one else think you must be f1 fans ........
Rosa is a good short term bet, he is quick and race time with a decent car will breed results for sure...I reckon Kova would be good and his mate at Williams was in the frame potentially.
Not convinced about Button myself, yes he has won before but great drivers can do miracles with cr*p cars....Jenson so far has proven he can't IMO
MClaren need somone who can develop the car. Look at the progress they made when Alonso joined them. Renault went backwards when they lost him. Mclaren became the team to challenge Ferrari instead of Renault.
I found it funny that when Alonso stopped talking to the Mclaren team they started losing ground to Ferrari.
Hamilton has the raw speed but he can't develop the car like Alonso. Two "newbies" in the MClarens wouldn't be good for them, but who cares when you are part of the tifosi.
Kingdoms are run by Kings, Dictatorships are run by Dictators.
England must be a Country. :mischeif:
schumacher would bleed ferrari if you cut him in half no way would he join mclaren plus he likes to be the best and i personally think hamilton would beat him in the same car. how about coulthard for a bit of experience look what he has done this year in a not such a good car .......

The car Button has is about competitive and useful as a chocolate toothbrush
I heard a rumour that it could be Micheal Schumacher, probably only a rumour but I think he would be the perfect partner for Hamilton
Would love to see that (bet hed still have his Ferari underpants on)... blimey theyd linch him mind you Ecclestone could see a few extra pounds from the huge F1scandal
S2 + RS2 yep ive had a few love em... Laser red S2 avant... Brilliant black lhd RS2... Polar silver RS2... RS blau RS2... CheeRS Al

But thats the point, the car is terrible but a good race engineer and a special driver can work round some of those issues providing he can articulate his feedback well. Any driver can drive quick in a decent car, achieving speed and balance in a dog of a car shows real feel and talent. Jenson has been all hype and promise but really not delivered.
Coulthard was kind of the same when at Mclaren, now he's been at Red Bull he is driving the development and feedback and has been able to impress in what is not a fantastic package.
Personally I would say Jenson drove very well in what was a truly awful car last year. I also think you will see Jenson shine in a post-traction control era, his throttle control has always been alot smoother then most of the field and this should serve him well.
Haynes Manual:As described in Chapter 7...
Translation:That'll teach you not to read through before you start, now you are looking at scarey photos of the inside of a gearbox.

How can he drive a car that wont finish a race? Put Button in a Ferrari, McClaren etc a car that is competitive and he'll shine.
Lets face it F1 is about who has the best car. Look at all the other top drivers out there but they are hamstrung in the same way.
If Jensen had had Hamiltons car this year he would have also finished in the top 3
