Never done it, but I'd guess it's not quick. PayPal has been critised in the past for reversing transactions too hastily, where there's not been justification and leaving sellers out of pocket. As there's clearly justification here, they should be on your side.

Open a dispute with the seller through the links in "myebay". He'll be given an opportunity to sort it out through a special area between you, him and ebay. If he ignores it, ebay 99% of the time rule in your favour and refund your money (this is the scary thing about paypal as they just take the money from the account)
If he argues, then it's up to you to prove that they aren't what was advertised.

The only problem is, he doesnt state they are original red ones that are not sprayed, so technically he has not miss led or miss sold you anything

              Unfortunately thats correct.

Not sure if you can do anything other than selling them again and maybe being a bit more honest than the previous seller.

Could also be that he didnt know they were sprayed and just sold them as red rear lights.

I thought that originally too, but he/she put "US" in the title, which these aren't. It's the "US" bit that's your hope of claiming that it was misleading.

understand fully that you feel cheated, as they're not US lights, and price would probably been quite different if the auction had stated they were sprayed.

But they do look good on the pics though.

Are they not that good looking in real life?

Perhaps you could - as suggested - sell them onwards, if you do not want to use them.

Alternative is to open up a dispute and hope for the best.

Just opened up a dispute through paypal. Quite annoyed i had to do that, as i emailed the seller on saturday politely saying the item was not as described but got no response. There is a chance that the seller was unaware of the fact they were normal lights that had been tinted as they left me feed back straight away. Would have thought if they were trying there luck would have waited to see hat i said.
Just need to wait and see what happens now.
Thanks for the helpful comments guys

xgordyx...nbext time you want US parts, ask the US members here.

There are plenty of US guys here who would give you help. In fact I know of 2 US breakers who would have sold you the lites cheaper than what you payed for them.

got a qoute from a US breaker asking 350 usd (237 euro app) for a set of US coupe rearlights, inc the centerpiece.

                            +shipping

No mention about wheter or not the center piece is the small US style or the wider Euro style.

Does US cars only have the small square rear plate, or did some cars have room for the bigger "normal" style plate.

Seems kinda steep to me, especially since they are used

Good Lord who gave you that quote!?

I have a buddy who owns a CQ boneyard and can give you a way better price!
audicoupeparts@yahoo.com > Ask for Joe. Tell him Marc from Chicago told you about him. He can help you.
As for the center part....it is for the use of USA plates. Not the UK or Euro ones.
The center though is always the same measure so you can use your Euro center part.
