Thats cool - I had no idea the RS2 limo existed legitametly - even if none were actually sold as such. Of course Porsche would not have allowed such a thing to be anything other than Avant style so as not to curtail sales of Porsches !
Its sad that Ingolstadt treats it like an orphan - and Zuffenhausen too. From what I remember hearing/reading at the time, the RS2 donor cars were actually taken to Zuffenhausen as partially built 80 Avant quattros out of Ingolstadt to be finished off by specially trained folk at the Porsche facility. That maybe explains why Ingolstadt feels nothing special about it. Isn't it the case that most of the later S, RS and R series came out of Neckarsulm ? The UR and S2 are unique in that they were ALL built in Ingolstadt.
It would be quite easy to replicate an RS2 limo from a B4 80 quattro - just not cheap by any stretch of the wallet - especially to do it properly with respect to details.
Cheers,
Paul
