Wife's car

Hi all,

My wife's car (focus c-max) has intermittently developed a high pitched noise coming from what appears to be the glove box.
I have yet to be there in person when it happens but she has phoned me when it has and it sounds like white noise. (So no she isn't going doolally )

I've phoned the ford garage and they've never heard of this before.

Any ideas????

She says no, it was just one constant high piercing sound.

just a thought, could it be the brakes??.....when the disk needs changing there is a "yogi" burr on the outside diameter and sometimes rubs and makes that horrible noise...just a thought......

More info from the misses.

Sounded like a single high pitch tone alarm, didn't change whether she had the engine running/off, stereo on/off, driving, central locking on/off.......
